Redemption

By Raymond Franklin

A former death row inmate — now an old man walking in faith — returns to the prison that once held him. His mission: to counsel Chuck, a young condemned man, in his final days. Through raw, searching conversations, Ray Franklyn must confront his own violent past to guide a soul lost to despair.

Redemption is a powerful, unflinching exploration of what it truly means to be forgiven — and whether grace can reach those who feel most unworthy of it.

What's Redemption?

Raymond's book, Redemption, is a powerful and raw account of his mistakes and crimes. It is told in a fictional setting that chronicles his struggles, his triumphs, and his journey toward redemption. The book is a testament to the human spirit.

Ray Franklyn, a former death row inmate who has served over forty years behind bars, now walks free as a parolee. Transformed by faith, Ray leads a modest ministry and has forged significant connections.

Compelled by divine urging and the encouragement of his mother's church friend, Ray agrees to meet with Chuck Roberson, a condemned man on the brink of execution. Through sharing his tumultuous past and interpreting biblical tales, Ray befriends Chuck, endeavoring to guide him toward spiritual salvation.

As Ray confronts Chuck's skepticism and grapples with his own lingering uncertainties, he must also contend with the inquisitive Warden, who is intrigued by the influential connections that facilitated Ray's access.

Who is Raymond Franklin

Raymond Franklin is a writer who has spent over 46 years in prison, where he has used his experiences to write a powerful and thought-provoking book, Redemption. Despite the challenges he has faced, Raymond remains committed to sharing his story and advocating for positive change.

Raymond Franklin was born in Kansas City, Missouri on 8/27/57. His father was in the Air Force, so he was raised in South Carolina and then Georgia. At the age of twenty-one, he was sentenced to death for murder. He spent over five years on Death Row before an intent issue changed his sentence to life in prison.

During his time in prison, Raymond had a transformative experience. He realized he had the power to change his life and make a positive impact on the world. He completed his GED and two Associate Degrees, then started helping other inmates with their cases. Using his experiences as inspiration, he started writing.
